Food / Fitness Philosophy

Here's the deal. Your body is an intrinsic, special part of who you are. And if you're living for more than just yourself (and I hope you are!), then your body is a temple, vessel, instrument... A valued tool for a higher purpose!

So why the heck wouldn't you take care of it?

I haven't always valued my body in the way I should. I've overindulged, underfed, and had my share of days spent despising myself. And truth be told, I sometimes still have days like that. But I've learned that who I am physically is part of an incredible masterpiece. My body is fantastically designed and as its steward, I need to take care of it.

So what does that mean?

Well, I need to eat to live and not live to eat. I need to put healthy, whole foods into my body, and I need to take time every week to exercise and strengthen my body. And the best part is, it's not about feeling guilt-free or just doing what's "right". It's about physical rewards!

I've learned that if I:
  • eat a diet largely comprised of fruits and vegetables
  • purposfully  give my body the vitamins it needs through whole foods
  • indulge without overeating
  • eat only when I'm hungry
  • exercise regularly
then I...
  • naturally lose weight
  • have more energy
  • have elevated moods
  • sleep better
  • have better skin
  • the list goes on and on!!!
So, on this blog, I'll sometimes include health tips and tricks that I pick up along the way. Along with healthy (and deeeelicious!) recipes!
